- Matti Koskinen Software - A variety of programs that are audio-related, including a de-noiser, a program that generates midi files from fractals, and software that creates sound from a gif file.
- Rosegarden - An integrated midi sequenser and musical notation editor for Unix-like systems. The latest version is the pretty old, but stable Version 2.1. Rosegarden is currently being rewritten to be extensible and to overcome limitations in the previous design. Rosegarden 3.0 will use GTK+, CORBA and GUILE. Sadly, progress has been stalled for a while now.

- SoundTracker - MOD tracker for X, similar to FastTracker. Also includes a sample recorder and editor.
- TiMidity++ - A midi to wave converter. Uses Gravis Ultrasound-compatible patch files. Can be used to play midi-files on computers with soundcards without midi-support.
- xmp: Extended Module Player - Open source (GNU GPL) portable module player for Unix or Wind32.
